1. Introduction

DazeToGo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application and web services.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We believe in radical transparency. Here's what we do NOT collect:

Personal information (name, email, phone number)
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Location data
Photos or media files
Contacts or calendar data
Browsing history or search history
Any data from third-party apps

3. How the App Works

Local Storage (Mobile App)

All countdown events you create are stored locally on your device using Hive database. This data:

Never leaves your device unless you explicitly share an event
Is not backed up to our servers
Is completely under your control
Can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app

4. Shared Countdowns

When you choose to share a countdown by generating a public link, we store the following on our servers (powered by Appwrite):

Event title - The name you gave your countdown
Target date - When the countdown ends
Emoji & color - Your chosen customization
Share link ID - A randomly generated 12-character identifier
Deletion token - A secret 36-character UUID stored only on your device that proves you own this data
Reaction count - Anonymous counter of hearts received

Important: Sharing is completely optional. You can use the app without ever sharing a countdown.

You're in control: The deletion token ensures only you can delete your shared data. It never leaves your device and cannot be accessed by viewers of your shared countdown.

5. Reactions & IP Hashing

When someone reacts to a shared countdown:

We collect their IP address temporarily to prevent spam (rate limiting)
IP addresses are immediately one-way hashed using SHA-256 with a salt
We store only the hash, never the actual IP address
The hash cannot be reversed to reveal the original IP
Hashes are used solely to enforce: 1 reaction per hour per person
No cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts are used

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service:

Appwrite - Open-source backend platform for storing shared countdown data
- Hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (EU data residency)
- All data transmitted via HTTPS encryption
- Appwrite's privacy policy: https://appwrite.io/privacy

7. Data Retention

Shared countdowns: Stored indefinitely until you delete them. You can delete individual countdowns or use "Delete My Shared Data" in the app menu to remove all your shared countdowns at once.
Reaction data: When you delete a shared countdown, all associated reactions are also permanently deleted from our servers.
Reaction hashes: Stored temporarily for rate limiting, eligible for cleanup after the rate limit period expires.
Local data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. Deleting shared data from servers does not delete your local countdowns.

8. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

Delete individual shared countdowns: Delete any countdown from the app to also remove it from our servers
Delete all shared data: Use "Delete My Shared Data" in the app menu to permanently remove all your shared countdowns and reactions from our servers in one action
Access your data: All local data is accessible on your device. Shared data is visible via the public links you created
Export your data: Take screenshots or manually copy your countdown details
Opt out of sharing: Simply don't use the share feature - the app works fully offline
No authentication barriers: You don't need to log in or verify your identity to delete your data - the deletion token stored on your device proves ownership

9. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. The app does not require any personal information to function.

10. App Store & Google Play

When you download the app from App Store or Google Play:

Apple/Google may collect download and usage statistics
We do not receive any personal information from these platforms
Refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies for their data practices

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
Updating the "Last updated" date

Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS
Appwrite backend uses industry-standard security practices
IP addresses are one-way hashed and never stored in plain text
No user accounts means no password breaches

13. International Users

Our app is available globally. Shared countdown data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany) via Appwrite. By using the share feature, you consent to this data transfer.

15. Summary

TL;DR: We collect almost nothing. Your countdowns stay on your device. If you share one, only the event details (title, date, emoji) go to our servers. You can delete your shared data anytime with one tap. We hash IPs to prevent spam but never store them. No tracking, no ads, no authentication required, no nonsense. You're always in control.
